Standing in the shade of a magnificent 500-year-old oak tree, the Oak Tree Inn provides a focal point in this peaceful village which enjoys panoramic scenic views across Loch Lomond. The inn is a striking building with an unusual history. In a remarkable architectural salvage operation, timbers and panelling were dismantled from a neighbouring country house dating from 1864, a local slate quarry was re-opened for this one building. The material was brought to the site by hand and painstakingly cut and constructed over a period of 12 months using traditional building methods to give the Oak Tree Inn its authentic rustic appeal. Similar care was taken over the interior with its extensive use of natural oak - note especially the bar area, constructed from a 300-year-old oak tree.

The attractive oak beamed dining room serves as a traditional tea room during the day, serving teas, coffees and light refreshments. In the evening, a full restaurant menu is available, offering traditional Scottish cuisine using only the finest and freshest local produce. Bar meals are also served all day in the bar area. With its relaxed friendly atmosphere, the Oak Tree Inn is a place where you will want to linger. .
